We often think of evolution as a competition––survival of the fittest. In reality, organisms avoid wasting life and limb on this. Instead, they specialize and partner with other organisms to meet their suite of needs. Flowers attract pollinators, fruits tantalize seed dispersers. Living things invest in and shape each other. These coevolutionary processes are at work in our teams too – both with other species and in and between our teams. Our communities are more like those of ants than chimpanzees. For us, it takes a village. But our collaborations require lifetimes of thoughtful practice, mentoring, and consideration. How might we develop our capacity for fruitful collaboration?

Art Activism Kick-Off Event!

FIRST EVER to the public - Art + Nature in Mythic Time, an online creative journey for humans of all ages, with...

  • Josh Lane - tracker, nature mentor, and author of the Nautilus-winning book Conscious Nature will guide our nature connection

  • Chris Lopez - applied naturalist, Regenesis Institute faculty member, and storyteller gives voice to the ancient tale at the heart of it all.

  • Me - your art teacher and guide to living systems!

    Join me Earth Day Saturday, April 23 for a unique, virtual creative journey - Art and Nature in Mythic Time, for humans of all ages! Very excited to share that I will be joined by Josh Lane, the extraordinary tracker, nature mentor, and author of the award-winning book Conscious Nature, and Chris Lopez, storyteller, applied naturalist, and Regenerative Practitioner!

Bring the markers, magazine clippings, and all your senses, and be ready to move into mythic time as we track and feed an ancient tale back to the beginning of human imagination, in search of the original instructions set within it. This event features a Native American tale called Hide it in the Heart, in which star-nose mole, humblest and most in touch with the Earth, suggests the key of life should be hidden in the human heart.

Each participant will produce a collage featuring a creature they share some relationship with––an animal they just love. This will be restorative and uplifting––you can put that eco-anxiety away!

Once everyone’s art is uploaded (you have until Mother’s Day) we’ll have created a collective artistic statement about our love and care for Earth and her children. 

We know the answers in our bones, after all.

We work hard to make change in the world. Maybe it’s as simple as trying to give our children more opportunities. But despite our whole efforts and best intentions, improvement seems incremental. Real transformation eludes us.

This 2-Hour workshop introduces organizational leaders and agents of change to a powerful framework for growing their unique capacity for affecting transformation. This is a special workshop, unlike any I have done before––an inspiring and provocative guided journaling and small break-out experience generating inspiration, clarity, focus, and actionable insights you can put to work right away
